In the digital, a la carte music age, albums can be an afterthought for many listeners. But for many of us, we’re connected to particular albums for certain reasons. Perhaps they remind us of a certain times in our lives, or certain people that meant a lot to us. Perhaps they make us happy, or sad, or angry. Maybe they remind us of that summer in LBI, or freshman year of college, or that time when Johnny fell through the ceiling. Albums create connections with the times and people in our lives and listening to them can have a time capsule effect on your brain.
The DailyLP is a project that will explore full albums and how they make us feel. Each day, a collection of writers and musicians will share their thoughts and reactions about the musical works that have impacted their lives. We hope you enjoy our take. Thanks for reading, and for listening.
